New Year's Giveaway

The winner of the giveaway is: Frank! Congratulations, Frank. Send me your contact info and I'll have the card emailed to you. Thanks to everyone who participated.

New Year's resolutions: We all talk about them, but rarely follow through. Mostly we trot out the same, tired proclamations with no motivation to actually DO anything.

Yeah. Been there and done that.

But this year I'm dreaming/scheming big, and I'll bet I'm not the only one. (All of a sudden John Lennon's Imagine is playing in my head.)

For 2010, I set the goal of finding a new agent. I absolutely hit the jackpot with that goal, and was approached in May by powerhouse agent Robert Gottlieb of Trident Media Group after the kindle versions of my two novels were bestsellers. He's been absolutely wonderful and I'm so excited about what 2011 will bring. Who says miracles can't happen?

What are your most AUDACIOUS goals for 2011?

I'm going to give away a $25 Amazon gift card to one commenter here who shares her/his list of outrageous (but achievable) goals for the next 12 months.

I'll choose the winner on the evening of January 1, 2011.
(PG-rated, please!)

1. To lose 20 pounds by March 19 Liberty States Conference. (I and a number of Liberty States friends agreed to this during a holiday party. No alochol was involved).
2. To write a vampire menage story that won't leave my brain.
3. To have a year of good health and happiness.

Wishing you all the best for the New Year as well.

This is not a New Year's resolution, I don't make them usually, but my most "audatious" goal is to go home for the summer. The flight alone for the family of four will be around $5000 and then there's the spending money but I'm determined and must put every penny into that fund. Even if that means no presents for Christmas. But, this is a present too, only it doesn't come wrapped and under the tree and it's so far away at the moment that kids don't get it.

To make as many people laugh as possible.

To practice random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty.

To be a better person than I was in 2010 - nicer, kinder, more encouraging and positive.

To replace every negative thought I have with a positive one.

To be kinder to myself. When I find myself thinking I am too fat, or stupid or not good enough I am going to replace it with a positive thought.

I am going to exercise everyday even if it is just a short walk or 20 minutes of Just Dance on the Wii

I am going to eat healthier even if it just means a salad each day with one meal or replacing ground beef with ground chicken.

I am going to smile more.

I am going to say I love you to my family more often. That includes calling my mom, my brother and my sister at least once a week.

1. Exercise for 30 minutes 5 days a week.

2. Start a journal and stick with it more that a month!

3. Spend more time doing what I want to do.

Mine are not very wild, but mean a lot to me:

Lose weight: For both health and to feel better about myself.

Finish my second story and edit my first.

Those are my two major one's :-)

Hey Lynda!!!! Hugs to you! It has been to long my dear friend!

My goal.. Is to allow my hubs to see that he needs to open up a bit more. Towards me. Show affection - to me... show anything - to me. And that will be a feat... We have been together for many a few years... and I am still waiting... Not to change him... just get him to see...

Hope all is well my dear friend!

I'm making a anti-new year's resolution involving gaining 20 pounds, eating high fat and calorie meals, and taking up smoking. I might even marry a serial killer.

I figure if none of the above come true, I'm having a heck of a new year.

Best of the new year to you.

I see caridad P. left a post...awesomeness ;) My goal is to quit yelling. My poor 4 yr old gets yelled at quite a bit (because he doesn't ever listen)and it really doesn't do anything. So I'm going to try and stop yelling and speak softly. He'll probably listen then because of shock ;) Thanks for a chance to win. love me some gift cards. Books, books and more books!

Ok, if you said dream big for 2011, I'll take it to the extreme. Normally I try to dream realistically, but it's a New Year, so I'm pulling out the stops.

1) My first book, The Lost Secret of Fairies, is listed on Oprah's Book Club for a children's lit. pick.

2) To have "Lost Secret of Fairies" picked up for it's movie rights, and possible interest in following movies for the other books.

3) To have dinner with Robert Downey, Jr.

OK, you said dream big. There you go.
