Cover art for "The Vampire Shrink"!!

The Vampire Shrink blurb:
Vampires, witches, ghosts, psychics and wizards!

Denver Psychologist Kismet Knight just wants a little excitement in her life. A little publishing fame and fortune. She doesn’t believe in the paranormal. Especially not comic book creatures of the night. But when a new client pulls Kismet into the vampire underworld, and introduces her to gorgeous Devereux, who claims to be an 800-year-old vampire, Kismet finds herself up to her neck in the undead. Not to mention all the other weird stuff crawling out of Denver’s supernatural Pandora’s Box. And if being attracted to a man who thinks he’s an ancient bloodsucker isn’t bad enough, someone – or something – is leaving a trail of blood-drained dead bodies. Then there’s handsome FBI profiler Alan Stevens who rocks Kismet’s world in more ways than one. He thinks the murderer is a vampire. But they don’t exist, right?

Blood Ties on Lifetime TV

Based on the books by Tanya Huff, "Blood Ties" debuted tonight on Lifetime TV. I really enjoyed it. It would have been easy for the series to turn into a cartoon or an over-the-top, kick-ass heroine caricature, but that didn't happen. Instead, the lead female character is well-acted by a young-yet-mature actress. Very nice ensemble cast. I also like that it's filmed in Toronto, and not in the US, in an atmospheric style. The charming vampire is good looking with obvious layers to his psyche. (But why doesn't he have an English accent??) And there's a love triangle forming. Yum. I look forward to more installments of this series and am going to go out and get Tanya's books.
